New TechRefresh Program

Join us for our newest adult technology course: TechRefresh! TechRefresh is a pilot program from Digital Inclusion that allows you to have 1-on-1 time with a technology instructor. This course will give you the opportunity to ask questions about content you have learned from a previously attended Digital Inclusion Adult Technology class.

So how does it work? First, you must complete a digital Inclusion Adult Technology class. For example, if the class met twice and you attended both days, then you completed the class. However, if you missed a day or didn’t attend at all, then you are not eligible for TechRefresh based on this sole experience. However, once you have completed any course we offer, you will earn a course subject voucher that is good for a year. This printed card gives you the privilege to sign up for any TechRefresh course that matches the course subject on your voucher. All you have to do is sign up for the TechRefresh course and you will be assigned a 15-minute time slot to work 1-on-1 with an instructor. The day before the class, an instructor will call you and ask what questions you will have for the upcoming TechRefresh session. At this time, you will be assigned a 15-minute timeslot. If you are unable to answer at the time of the call, a timeslot will automatically be assigned to you. If we are unable to leave a message you will need to call the facility the following morning. If you are late or miss your assigned time you will need to signup for the next TechRefresh session when it is available.

The best part is this program is totally free! You can sign-up for as many available TechRefresh courses that match your subject voucher until the voucher expires. You can find out when a TechRefresh course is being offered each month by picking up a printed Digital Inclusion Adult Technology flyer from one of our Active Adult facilities; Anne Gordon or Five Points. You may also find out more about our TechRefresh courses by going online to RecLink each month.

If you have completed a Digital Inclusion Adult Technology class in 2019 we haven’t left you out. You are grandfathered into the TechRefresh program until the end of the 2020 year. The same stipulations apply. Seating is limited. You must register using RecLink online or at a City of Raleigh Community Center.
